Communication Minimize

Scouts should be taking notes during meetings.

Scouts should check their email daily. Announcements and reminders are usually sent through the web site. Important information will be missed if the scout does not check on a regular basis.

A phone tree is set up through the Senior Patrol Leader to the Patrol Leader and then to the scouts. Updated phone information needs to be given to the current Patrol Leader to contact the scout as needed.

Troop 5 Meetings Minimize

Weekly Troop Meetings

The weekly serve several purposes. The boys have time to socialize. Skills are taught. The patrol method is reinforced. Information is passed along to the troop members. We encourage all Scouts to attend all meetings, however, we realize this is not always possible. If a Scout is going to miss a meeting, he should contact his patrol leader to let him know. Information regarding that meeting can be relayed to that Scout.

Scouts should be wearing their Field Uniform to all Scouting functions unless otherwise told. Field Uniform should also be warn to and from all camp outs.

Do Parents have to stay for the meetings?

No. Parents are free to drop off their boys and pick them up at the end of the meeting. Parents are also welcome to stay.

What time are the meetings over?

Meetings are over after we circle up for the closing. One patrol each week has clean-up duty. Meetings start at 7:00 and are scheduled to end around 8:30 to 8:45 although it is not unusual for them to run to 9:00. The ending time depends on how well the boys stick to the schedule they have made and complete their tasks.

No electronics for Scouts on camp outs - including cell phones
